Meeting Oz

It's the start of term for the 18 pupils at the Scottish Sheepdog School, which opened its doors to the public at the Scottish Wool Centre, Aberfoyle on Saturday 5th of April 2003.

This is the chance to join the class and join in the fun as the collies are put through their paces both in agility and working a flock of ducks by the headmaster. Head Shepherd Fergus Wood, and his staff in a hilarious show which includes a singing competition - yes, music is part of the course for the dogs just like Fame Academy!

The Sheepdog show is part of the attractions on offer at the Scottish Wool Centre which includes The Spinning Cottage with traditional carding and spinning, sheep, goats, lambs, and dog-and-duck demonstrations.

The class perform in three shows daily in the Trossachs Theatre in addition to the outdoor displays in the front paddock. Joining the Bearded and Border collies are some overseas students, including Oz, the Australian Bobtail Sheepdog.

Kate in Action

The Climax of the show features a display on Stirling Castle 'Rock' to leave you with fond memories of the show.

The Scottish Wool Centre, which is part of the Edinburgh Woollen Mill Group, is proud to present this exciting new attraction as part of their superb shopping and catering facilities located in the heart of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. For details of the facilities, see the Scottish Wool Centre page.
