Situated in the mountainous area of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs at Ledard Farm, a hill sheep farm, the school is the premier centre for the breeding and training of working sheepdogs in Scotland.

Astra Tweed		The Sheepdogs are bred and trained in an unrivalled environment with the first-class kenneling facilities and training, demonstration and trialling paddocks. The school also provides dogs for demonstrations at the Scottish Wool Centre in nearby Aberfoyle. The Centre is one of the largest visitor attractions in Central Scotland. The Scottish Sheepdog School is a registered member of The International Sheepdog Association.

Trained Dogs The School carries a selection of quality working dogs all trained by our resident instructor, Kenny Dickson. All dogs are registered with the I.S.D.A. and supplied with a full background specification. A micro chip service is available as is a full service of innoculations/vaccinations and health checks by the school's associated veterinary practice, Messrs Struthers and Scott of Doune. Bitches will be supplied eye-tested and hip-scored, if required. To assist cutomers in selection/matching we can arrange accommodation at the adjacent Forest Hills Hotel, which has full recreational facilities, including swimming pool and trim gym. Puppies The school prides itself in the quality and health of the pups produced at Ledard by kennelmistress, Francesca Wood. We limit ourselves to a maximum of four litters per year so prospective customers are advised to give us advance warning of their interest. All puppies are supplied with complete breeding and health certificates at eight weks - this includes distemper vaccination and micro-chipping (if requested). All puppies are supplied I.S.D.A, registered.

Trials and Open Days The school holds general and nursery trials regularly as well as open days featuring sheep and duck working - for details contact the school . Sheepdog Training Courses and Holidays We can arrange training courses and sheepdog holidays to meet your requirements. Hotel, self-catering and B-and-B accommodation can be arranged. The course includes general sheep work on our hill farm, which is situated in the heart of the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, looking on to Loch Ard and Ben Lomond.
